Two Blocks Done, or is it Three?

I've finished quilting terms into two more of my single fabric blocks. Actually, wait, I just remembered I quilted our name, location and the year into a longer strip. Never mind that.

This is what it looks like in the upper left corner.

I'm thrilled with how the Baboo block looks. I like the contrast of the quilting on the fabric:

I wasn't sure about the Screwball block from the very start. Is that purple floss to strong here? Too obnoxious? I can read it, but it's not very soothing. This was testing red colors of floss on the block (looks better in the picture than it did live). I think red would be legible and wouldn't fight with the fabric so much.

I decided to go ahead and put all the terms in anyway, in the color I started out with. Figure I'm going to give it a chance. If I get to the end of the embroidery floss quilting and it's still too obnoxious I'll take it out and redo it in red or else leave it blank.

I think it looks good in that color. Am wondering if it's just that quilting on something that bright or busy is part of it? And maybe we are more used to seeing the letters quilted in black? Hard to beat black actually, but I think it would jump out too much on this quilt.

I think the colors are perfect. And I also love the Baboo block. THe hand quilting is a perfect finishing touch. The lower case letters are great. I must try them next.

I really like the purple too. I think it makes you recognize the difference between the fabric and the words.

I'd have to do a whole cloth quilt to get all the names I call my cats. Doodles is one thing I always call my cat Noodle!

I think it looks great! I really like the "wildness" of it. No, the purple doesn't look wierd - I think red would blend too much.

So are these husband names or cat names or both? :)

I like the variety of things you're calling them. My cats tend to be 'furface' or 'blue-eyes' when I'm happy with them, and I won't say what I call them when I'm not happy with them!

Don't think the tent would make a nice litterbox cover unless it's washable, bet it'd absorb any odors and splatters.

I like the purple too. Nice blending of pink and orange. The red might be a bit lost in there. Love all the nicknames. And your stitching is so consistent. Well practice makes perfect!!
