Hanging in There

I've been making extra efforts to take photos of the cats, so that I can email them to my husband, who misses them terribly. I am getting better photos with the strong natural light -- the flash doesn't go off in their eyes. I thought this portrait of Habibi turned out pretty well.

I am thoroughly exhausted, but today is my whole body scan, which is checking to see if I have any cancer showing up in certain tissues that are associated with the thyroid, like the lungs and lymphatic system. I think that's what it does anyway.

My folks got here safely, I'm thrilled to report. We haven't gotten to go and do anything fun, but it has been great just to spend time with them and luxuriate in having meals made for me and dishes magically done. Unfortunately, my (step)Mom had cataract surgery on one of her eyes in November and has been having a problem with it. She goes to the eye doctor today. My poor Dad, surrounded by invalids.

Pokey and Lily are pretty much back to normal, but Howler and Bibi are still spending far too much time under my bed. My Dad has been taking the allergy med Zyrtec and hasn't had a problem being around all of them - woohoo.

I finished the quilting on my penguin quilt and have started quilting on a new project. I'll show that another day. Not that I've gotten far - haven't even picked it up in days.

Ya'all take care. Thanks for all the comments and support.

That is a gorgeous cat photo. I am impressed by how she is staring at the camera. I hope your scan goes well and that you are in Paris with your husband asap. It's nice that you aren't alone there and how great is that, having meals made for you! Good luck with the scan.

Love the closeup of Habibi! Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope the body scan comes out clean as a whistle!

I'm jealous! i haven't had mommy cook a meal for me in years.

I can't even imagine ...well strike that, I have felt SOME of what you are feeling...and I would fight to the death over those meds. You have to feel like absolute horror, but hopefully once the test are done you can get back on the meds and feel better in a few weeks. Hope the test goes easily! The cats will get used to the extra people soon hopefully.

As I type this you are probably having your scan - got no idea what the time difference is.

Glad you Dad isn't finding the cats too bad and you et your Mom wait on you hand and foot; OK!

Great shot of Habibi, Tonya. Reminds me I need to take some more pics of our mob. I can well imagine your DH must be feeling bereft without you and the felines.

I'm holding a good thought for the scan today and sending hugs.

Such good news that you finished the penguin quilt. Can't wait to see what's coming up next!

Here is hoping the scan goes OK. The cats will come out when they are good and ready. As I recall Goldie spent the first week in our new house under the bed!

Good luck with the scan, thinking positive thoughts. And the cat photo is precious. I love taking pics of my cat. Hubby often says he'd love to be able to download the camera just once without a pic of the cat on it!!
