Tropical

I figure, why have a picture of just fabric, when I could instead have a picture of fabric AND cats. Back when I had kittens in the house, it wasn't optional. Fabric? Camera? Inevitably Lily or Pokey would arrive and get in the way. Now they're not doing it so much anymore so I have to work harder. I figured the cat tree would make a great display spot for this potential border fabric. It's Tropical by Phillip Jacobs for Rowan. Bibi isn't very interested.

I admit it, I went and grabbed Lily and put her on top of the fabric.

Yes, her eyes really are this green.

I have to take lots of cat photos for my husband, who's far away right now. It took a lot of work to get a photo of Howler when he's a) awake and b) not fleeing. Howler looks so funny all smudgy like this - my husband just thinks I'm mean for laughing at the poor creature.

I tried using a new kitty litter made out of corn. It's turned into a powder and just gets all over Howler. Maybe the other kitties too, but you can't see it on them. At least it's a food product, but I will not be buying this litter again.

I am smiling at Howler too-but what a handsome cat despite the smudges.
That is one large tropical print!

Try Feline Pine. I use it for my kitties. It's compressed sawdust that fluffs when wet. I find less stink with it with three cats than with clays or that pelleted newspaper.

I really love the fabric. And the kitties, too. I miss having kitties but I sure don't miss the litter box!

fabulous furry feline fotos . . .

That border fabric is awesome! Loved it yesterday, love it more today!

Poor Howler. Good thing we don't really know what he's thinking ~

Oh poor Howler. Great photo though. You ought to frame it.

The photos of Lily remind me of the photographs taken by photographic studios in Victorian/Edwardian times.

That fabric is even more gorgeous today. Love the big flowers and those colours - wow!

Love the fabric, and the kitties! You're right - Howler is hilarious. Even if it does impinge upon his dignity!

LOL Howler! Funny how if you have cats you can read thier body language, he is really not pleased to have his photo taken.

That corn powder between his eyes makes him look really really pissed off! :)

Howler is NOT amused. Lily looks great with that border fabric -- which, by the way I think you should definitely use, and I think you are on the right track with the double irish chain, just maybe the background shouldn't be quite as busy as that Kaffe fabric (which I find hard to say because that's one of my all-time favorite fabrics, I just use it in the brown colorway). How's that for a run-on? I use Feline Pine too. It's not as anti-stink as Fresh Step which I used to use, but I feel much better about the earth with the Feline Pine, and it's not too bad. Definitely no smudgies.

Why haven't you done a book?
I love your freestyle letters and all that you have done with them and the letter challenges.
And I love your halloween quilt with all the quilted detail.
these would make fantastic books.....and I bet you have tons more fantastic ideas.
Well I guess I think your stuff is just terrific and thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.....but I bet you could sell them too!

Poor Howler - I had to laugh when I saw him! He was not a happy cat when you took this photo. But he's a pretty boy - and you have the perfect background for a black cat. It's really a great photo!

Lily is such a supermodel! She looks fabulous on that luscious tropical print! And I love that fabric with your "margarita" blocks. Just yummy! I'm thinking you're loving that sunshine!

Lily looks like a Hawaiian princess. She's gorgeous. Poor Howler. Having a black dog I can relate. Ngaire has been very dull looking lately from all the sanding dust. Yuck.

Uh oh Howler looks mad.

I love the picture of Howler! He looks a bit angry either because of the powder or because he is getting his picture taken. I was trying to catch a picture of Cleo with wood flakes all over him. That's another story I'll tell if I ever get him to pose!
