Halloween Tree 2005

This is a pic of my Halloween tree from last year. It's not very exciting, definitely needs more items, but it was a start and I miss having it this year.

This is where I actually put it - inside the china cabinet so the cats wouldn't tear it apart. The ornaments are carved from camel bone - ghosts, bats, and black cats. I bought the feather boas and black maribou to make a wreath, but didn't end up actually making it.

My husband and I both have miserable colds. He managed to drag himself into work on Friday and I watched six straight episodes of Gilmore Girls. Woe and misery - I am a very pathetic girl. Didn't even make it to the quilt show I was really looking forward to. Whine, whine, whine.

What a unique tree, Tonya! I love all of your Halloween goodies! :D Hope you're over the *yuks* soon!

I hope you and your sweetie get to feeling better soon. I have a bad cold too and have laid around for 4 days now doing little more than watch DVDs. I'll get the cheese to go with your whine and we'll just have us a little pity party in front of the tv. LOL!

I like your halloween decorations. I like the head sculptures. I know you have written about them before and I thought they were pretty cool them. Hope you an hubby get well soon. It seems like one can not start fall without a cold.

Hey Ton, sorry about you missing that quilt show. And way no fun to have a cold this time of year. Hope you feel better soon. The halloween stuff looks great! Can't wait to see the rescued quilts again!! Hugs, Finn

Feel better soon, Tonya. And you did something good with your post: I've never seen Gilmore Girls, but with your mention of it I went to Webflicks in Australia, signed up, and put Gilmore Girls on my queue...so THANKS!

Next year you can add to it. Or could you make a few things to lift your spirits right now, by hand?

Chicken soup and tea. Lots of pampering for both of you. Sounds like you need it. Your Halloween tree is great. I never thought of the china cabinet to protect things from the cats. But then I can be an idiot. Hope you feel better soon.

Both camel bone and feather boa sound like synonyms for "this is really a cat toy". Hope you're getting a lot of juice and rest to help you fight this stuff! Take care.

I hope you feel better soon hon, you must be feeling really poorly to miss a quilt show! I know it'd take something powerful to hold me back from a quilt show!
Thank you for sharing your halloween tree, we just don't celebrate it here, kind of sad, cuz it looks like fun.
*hugs*

I made DH root through the boxes yesterday to find my Halloween stuff...sorry you are feeling lousey! Lots of tea and soup with some occasional (or frequent...) chocolate usually helps! My cold has gone on so long I have reread the entire Harry Potter series and am starting on my Jane Austin set...

Camel bones... Deos that mean Halloween is a "to do" in Egypt?

P.S. - you did not miss much, the quilt show was far better last year (IMHO). But the concurrent Bethesda Row Art thing was nice!

Sorry you both feel so rotten, hope you are getting better by today. I have a tree similar to this that I keep these little heads on during Halloween (not this year). Keep collecting! The tree is great!

Your halloween stuff is awesome, Mariah would be in heaven at your place!
