Beady Eye

Whee, I finished my bead embroidery this morning. This is Eye Beady and measures a bit more than 4" x 3.5".

I started this way back in the fall when Finn and I were talking about eyes (hope yours are well now, Finn!) and of course it was Halloween time then. I stopped when I decided I wanted some orange sequins. Well, my search for them in Florida was a failure, but I did buy some other beads which worked fine. I used a mixture of sizes and finishes as well as some really cheap ones and some expensive ones (which isn't that big of a deal, since I've got loads left for more projects). Think I'm going to get it framed, but without glass, cuz that will just interfere to much with the sparkle.

It took loads of time, but I am happy with it (and happy to be done).

Not much else interesting going on. I refuse to use the sewing machine in the dark, so I won't be doing any piecing until the scaffolding moves. I don't want to turn this into a big whiny post, so I won't say anymore about that.

Hubby and I have started on the third season of "Alias" - hopefully all that nonsense about The Passenger and the Chosen will make more sense this time through.

Your eye is so awesome! I haven't even considered working in beads but it looks so fun, this will look so neat framed!

Hey Ton, this is one spectacular piece! They just get better and better. Needless to say, tongue in cheek, "eye" love it ! *VBG*

Right up there with Devil Bob..*G* It's an excellent idea and interpretation. Very realistic and yet folk arty. Primative but refined. Those green sequins are inspired...LOL

My eyes are holding their own. Right one pretty much back to where it was, left one still doing the weeping, but what can ya do?? All in all, I'm fine, and thanks for asking..*VBS*
Can hardly blame you for not wanting to sew with the scaffoling in front of the windows..I'm sure something else is "cookin' tho".

Great job on eye beady..*S*

Tonya, I love the eye! So dramatic and sparkly! Wonderful!

FYI, I'm starting season 2 of alias tonight, while I work on my T-shirts. We do have so much TV taste in common!

Gee, this is really beautiful. Kinda mystical and mesmerizing. Does it seem like a talisman to you or someone watching?

WOW !! dramatic impact and just amazing work Tonya! I can only imagine how many hours went into that piece. I agree-glass would take away from the sparkle..it is really a fantastic piece of artwork. I agree with Finn, love the green sequins. I am sorry to hear about the horrid scaffolding-I hope you have other things you can do inside.
