Joy

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on my Joy quilt border. I made up my mind yesterday and added borders. Voila:

The entire quilt was made with 2" and 4" strips. This is about 44" x 34" That's one item of my to-do list.

It snowed here the other day and I completely missed it. I was happily sewing and noticed that the sun came out in the afternoon. Boy was I surprised to walk out and find snow on the ground. These are the pedestrian and bike lanes in the middle of the boulevard. The snow had melted everywhere else.

There's a 60% chance of snow today - eek.

Uplifting -- that's the word I was looking for yesterday and just couldn't find! The uneven borders fit the joy well, they echo the uplifting spirit of it in an obvious way. Besides, it's just fun!

It looks great and it does make one happy, just to look at the vibrant colours!

I can never sit long enough to finish a quilt that quickly. I am constantly hopping up and down and going from this and that. I like what you did with the strips.

Joyful! The first word to come to mind when I look at your Joy quilt. Very nice.

Well, the borders just MAKE this quilt sing, Tonya. I love it!

Thinking wistfully of the chance for a snowy walk in Paris...it's going to be in the 90s here today and dry, dry, dry!

GOOD DECISION.....I think using the tiny purple borders would have made it 'too quilty'....now, it looks fun and playful....abstract, and just makes the 'joy' sing!

I love the JOy quilt Tonya and as for your "snow" - you call that snow -LOL - go check out my friend Pam at Pamspages.blogspot.com if you want to see Snow - We have had some snow this winter but some other parts of Canada have really had a lot as has the North west coast of the United States...( I shouldn't tease you but I couldn't resist...) Snow can be fun too you know... Ask my little kindergarten students - they love it
Keep living life with Joy...
Regards,
Anna

Your road looks like our road...the white stuff just isn't shifting as fast as it normally does.

Ooooh, I like Joy! The snow looks pretty. I can say that because it is *there* and not here. *hehe*

That border is fantastic! It's so HAPPY! And makes me think of summer -- which, at this time of year, is always welcome!

Oooo, this is a great quilt! Of course, I love all your quilts. But I adore plaids. You're making me itch to go haul mine out and do something with them, and I'm supposed to be doing my witch's pantry! This quilt looks so bright and tropical. Love it! What a great antidote to winter.

yes, that did the trick of keeping it in the joyful range...like everyone else...I too think it looks smashing.
a bit of white stuff...not likely to last too long and pretty to look at.

It Dances! How about the "Last Boogie in Paris," for a title?

I will miss your Paris and European pictures and stories when you return to the US. Maybe some new quilts will emerge "Paris on the Everglades" "Croissants and Oranges" "Cafe au Tequilla"
