Watch Me on the Quilt Show!

Hi guys! Ya'all can watch my episode of The Quilt Show for free (woohoo!) October 3rd through October 9th by following this link to episode #907. You do have to sign up to be a basic member (which is free) to access the show.

That's me at the sewing machine walking Ricky Tims through UnRuly Letters.  So funny to see me worrying about straight lines and rulers. I've changed in the last year!

Additionally, you can sign up to be a Star Member and access other shows for 20% off by using the coupon code: 182844782548

Be kind while you're watching it - remember I was incredibly nervous! Someone asked me if LAWS is hand quilted. Most definitely. You can see me there working on it, no hoop or frame.

Thank goodness I had that quilt with me to work on and keep my mind focused on. Really helped with the nerves.

Can I just say I love Alex Anderson. She is an incredible sweetie.

Enjoy the show!

I watched the show last Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it. You looked a bit nervous at the start, when they were interviewing you, but after that you looked fine, you really got into your stride. Your quilts looked great too.

Great show Tonya!

woo hoo YOU!!!! It was sort of like getting to meet you in person!! How fun getting to hear your voice. I must say your voice was not like I had imagined in my head these past years we have blogged and I guess I had you a little taller too!
I was mesmerized seeing all your quilts there in one spot. The colors were soooo vibrant!!!
I don't know why anyone wouldn't be inspired to try some words on their own now. Your 'how to' segment was right on, clear and simple!!
CONGRATS on being OUR star!!!!

Just watched the show . . . what fun! You looked great, and your quilts did too. I think you might have convinced some people to give it a try that haven't yet. Wouldn't that be cool?

I have a friend that is interested in the Unruly Letters. We've had one sewing session together. She watched the show today, and not only wants to do more, but is thinking of not doing anything but wonky, improv quilts from now on. And that makes me smile!

Congrats on being a STAR now!

You did a great job! I would have been MUCH more nervous than you appeared to be. I'm with you. If I have something to work on, my nerves work on THAT! WTG!

I couldn't wait to see you; I came home from school (I teach) and watched it the first Monday evening that the show was available! I am a big fan of your blog and book and I thought you presented yourself beautifully on TQS! I loved that you were quilting while being interviewed; it was so authentic. And, whether you were nervous or not, it was absolutely clear that you know your liberated letters and technique! Do you realize how many accomplished quilters/authors will never be featured like that?! You deserve the recognition; I think you did the show in style!

I enjoyed the show so much! It was so neat to see how truly wow'd they were from seeing your work.

Brilliant show, Tonya! You didn't seem nervous at ALL! :) I got really inspired to do some Xmas words, actually! :)
...Funny thing: looking at the "Cake"-quilt (I think that was the one) and reading the words I suddenly wondered why on Earth someone wrote WORM on a block... Until I realised it said WARM instead... LOL :D

Squee!!! Oh my, that was fun and you were adorable! I know Alex is too, but you just looked liked you were having fun after the first minute or two of nerves. I'm so proud of you! It was great to see the quilts there too. Happy Halloween is one of my favorite quilts of all time. I also loved the blog business at the end. It's nice to know they are spreading the word about the quilt blog world.

I agree how bloggers become almost family. And it's so much fun when you get to meet one in person.
You talked about living abroad, WOW I must have followed you close to those 5 years.

Hi Tonya,
Great show, and you did a great job, threw in some humor and even smiled (that's hard to do while explaining things).
Sure you may have been nervous, but just remember, now that it's out of the way, you'll do better next time!

I just watched your Quilt Show episode and I really enjoyed it. You did a great job! I've been thinking of doing a music-themed quilt and now you have me thinking of incorporating words into the design. Thanks for the link.

Just watched The Quilt Show with your segment and it was fantastic. You take the fear out of making words by making it look so easy and creative. I DID meet you at the Houston Show last year--I thought I recognized you as you walked by on Sunday afternoon before classes started. We were up on the Education floor and I had to be a dork and walk up and call your name. You were so friendly and seemed happy to meet a reader. I bought your book this summer and have carried it around with me on trips reading but not trying it out.....now you make it look really easy. I am a big fan of Gwen Marston as well so am drawn to the liberating style. I enjoyed your comments at the end of The Quilt Show about your blog. Have been a reader for several years and look forward to many more. Keep on keeping on!

Hi, I just bought you book which brought me here to your blog and thence to the video segment. What great timing! It was great to actually see you do some of what you described in the book. I am looking forward to adding some words to a quilt soon.

BTW, you did not look as nervous as you must have felt.

Tonya,
It was so great being able to see and hear you on TQS. I read your blog when you were in Cairo, then you went to Florida and then Paris. I lost track but when your book came out, I remembered. Plus, we're both fans of Bonnie Hunter-she's the one who first led me to your blog. Congratulations on your success!

I thought you did a great job, Tonya! You didn't seem nervous at all to me. Ricky was so excited about making the letters--love that. It was a thrill to see the Cake quilt in the background the whole time. Congratulations!

I watched the show, you were/are adorable. It was neat to see you with your work, I have read your blog since before you split from the blog ring. But this was a first I got to hear and see you at the same time, such fun. Also I think you are way too hard on your self. You did a great job on the show. I have been a quilt show member since the beginning and I really saw no difference between your show and many others. You did a great job. Hugs !!!!
