Bah to Surgery!

I present Bah Humbug! so far:

I know I said I wasn't going to show the blocks for the Bah Humbug! group quilt here in this blog, but realized I'd better so that anyone who still has blocks to do can get a feel for the colors and sizes. For instance, some red background would be awesome. And I just have to beg for some smaller blocks - that will help, guys! I know I've got more coming in the mail! wheeee! Thanks, everyone!

Carol E included an UnRuly letter for a future student letter quilt (yay, now I have three) and a couple of fun crumb blocks. And wheee, she finished a wonderful free-pieced name quilt she started many years ago.

Clare sent me a block too, but I forgot to take a photo, so I'll send you over for a visit.

So my husband arrived safely home last week and managed to have one good night of sleep before my surgery the next afternoon. The surgeon vacuumed out the evil in my left knee and took care of arthritis stuff in both of them. Turns out I don't have PVNS in my right knee too. woohoo for that.

If you ever decide to have surgery on BOTH knees at once, even if it's arthroscopic, make sure you have a big strong guy to help out at home or demand a hospital stay that first night. aiyee, there is a reason you're not supposed to do them both at once. Husband has been marvelous and taken great care of me.

I've been using this Game Ready system the doctor recommended. It does ice and compression for 30 mins at a time and is great. I was tethered to it constantly for the first three days (ugh, hated that) even at night but now I'm down to a minimum of 5 times a day. I do it a bit more cuz I don't want to waste all that ice and it feels pretty good. Anyway, this is what it looks like from my point of view:

Thank goodness for laptop. Ya'all take care.

Happy healing and kudos to your sweet, strong DH. Hope the recovery is fast. Hang in there.
I don't suppose Pokey likes the cold lap very much :-(

Glad to hear you're past the surgery and onto recovery. I hope you get better soon, but and can rest when you need to. take care.

My mother had both of her knees done at the same time, it took some time to heal, but she was so glad she had the surgery! I'm hoping you will heal quickly and be back to your sewing machine in no time!

I'm working on small letters as I get a chance - plan on having them finished in a few days.

Take care and rest as much as you can!

Those are some great Bah Humbugs. Hope you are recuperating well. I'm having knee surgery a week from Friday, but only on ONE knee. Should be a piece of cake compared to what you're going through! (Just Bah, no Humbug)

Had arthro on one knee about 5 years ago. Still hurts, but not as badly.

Had breast reduction in Novemeber, never hurt so much in my whole life! But they sure are cute now.

glen: I am down 2 1/2 lbs in both sides, happy laptopping!

I'm sorry - I know I shouldn't cos you're in pain, but that last photo made me laugh out loud! You can't hand quilt upside down. Love the black background Bah Humbug. My Bah looks huge (hiding behind the sofa).

So how does the ice in the leg thingies affect the heat of a laptop, or vice verse?

BTW, I still owe you a BAH block -- I have the bug fabric ready and waiting.

Yikes! When I saw your legs straightened out like that all I could think of was, thank goodness you have a recliner! But I imagine getting in and out of it is the pits! Hears to a quick recovery!

PS love how the bah humbugs are coming along...my blocks were too big...lol
