I'd have gotten more done if I didn't have to do boring stuff like piecing a backing for a quilt. I know I could just buy fabric for that, but I'm ready to move older fabric out of my stash. Pokey was ever so helpful in the process.
Must wrestle fabric into submission:
Here she is, ready to pounce on another square of fabric:
Anyway, sewing hasn't been the highest priority. Instead I've been putting in time on the book. I was amazed to discover that Word Play Quilts is already on The Patchwork Place website. Holy cow! We now have a date for it too, December 7th. fingers crossed. I'm feeling like a real author.
Okay, I know I have lots more to tell you, but the Tour de France has finally hit the Alps. I've gotta go cheer Lance on.
Ya'all take care.
Love your crown of thorn blocks! 10" blocks? they plaids really vibrate the patterns.. I love that.
ReplyDeleteLove the plaids. Leave it to you to introduce the rest of us to something really cool to do. My daughter in laws mother gave me a box of fabric and I think there are some plaids in that box. Hmm, maybe I will pull them out this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThey are just beautiful!! I love them!
ReplyDeleteThe Crown of Thorns blocks are great. You took a static design and made it dance. The shirt thing has been popular lately, but I have resisted so far.
ReplyDeleteI like the crown of thorns blocks with the love/live blocks as they are a perfect counterpoint to them.
Great blocks, Pokey fun as usual... but I checked the link to your book! WooHoo! One of my blocks is on the cover! Woot! Dec 7... awesome! Now I know what my family is getting for Christmas presents this year!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. I like the red in there. Love anything with shirting!
ReplyDeleteI am going to go check the website right now for your book!
I hope you leave the red in--it makes everything pop. And I love the book cover. It really makes me want to see the inside of the book. Best of luck.
ReplyDeleteI like your blocks, Tonya....the red keeps my eye moving. I had to laugh at your kitty playing with the blocks. My new kitten did the exact same thing the other night when I was laying out blocks on the floor. He had the best time! It must be inborn!! Congrats on the book....I'll be wanting to get one for myself and one for my guild library.
ReplyDeleteI really LOVE those blocks!!
ReplyDeleteI agree about your crown blocks - they really dance! I think that block is also called Wedding Ring?? Congrats on your book - I am so happy for you and so excited to see that my block is one on the cover. Please reserve a copy for me and could you please sign it for me?? Yea Tonya!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are beautiful. I checked and your book is on Amazon as well.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE those crown blocks... I was at the thrift store lookingat shirts and thinking of you the other day. I am so impressed and I cannot wait to get ahold of your book. So cool.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are soooo creative. Whoever thought that shirt plaids were "appropriate" for this block - they are absolutely wonderful! Perfect choice from the "Unruly Quilter".
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm standing in the queue, waiting for your book!
I like the red one too! It will be great to see what plan emerges from this fun play you've had with the clothing industry :)
ReplyDeletePokey seems to be keeping her fabric hunting skills sharpened just fine.
Looking forward to your book publishing date! Very exciting.
WOO HOO TIMES A ZILLION!
ReplyDeleteI spotted my LEAP block on the cover, too!
Love watching Pokey wrestle fabric...
WOW Tonya, you're on Amazon too, with a release date of Dec. 6. Whatever date the book comes out will be an exciting one!
ReplyDeleteThe reds are a great addition! Of course I'd say that, since red is my favorite color. But, really, they add dimension and contrast.
ReplyDeleteThe book is super exciting!!
Lovely blocks. Very happy cat!

I love the red blocks - they really add some spice.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about your book coming out, and I'm just jazzed that TWO of my blocks are in the quilt on the cover!! Whoo hoo!!! You must be pretty excited too - this is wonderful for you!
I love these blocks because they are so not you! The colours are great.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo three times over! Now the big question is. Can I order through you, thus ensuring I get a signed copy !!!!!!!! All I want for Christmas is Ton's book!
Pokey has the best blue eyes! Glad she's teaching that fabric who's boss!
