I'm Okay, Really

Sorry I have been so neglectful. I haven't gotten back up to full energy yet, but I'm feeling fine, mostly. Thank you all for your wonderful emails, cards, gifts, notes, and calls. I appreciate each and every one even though I've been terrible about responding.

I had a wonderful visit with my aunt, just sorry that she couldn't stay even longer. My husband arrived safely and it's been great having him here. A whole bunch of boxes arrived on Monday, my belongings from France that I wanted here rather than in storage. Of course the movers somehow managed to lose all the wires needed to put the shelves in the bookcases (aka fabric cases) so my husband had to do some DIY fiddling to make it work. Voila, Pokey has another place to hide.

It's frustrating to be so incapacitated. I'm not allowed to lift more than 3 pounds (though I'm not even sure how much that is) or bend down to pick things up. Poor sweetie pie pretty much had to do all the work to get the boxes moved around and emptied. But at last the boxes are empty and I can once again get to the computer.

Not that I'm spending much time on it... I am getting lots of hand quilting (the Margarita Quilt) done. Ya'all take care and don't worry if I don't post until next week.

It looks like Pokey is picking the fabrics for your next project...I wish my Weasley would do that! That's why I love scrap quilts...no decisions for me (or the cat).

Continued healing vibes coming your way...

Such happy news - you're doing well AND your DH is there for you!! I know it's hard, but let him wait on you. (Enjoy it while you can!) I'm in the same boat at the moment, so I understand what you're going thru.

Pokey is looking good and I'm sure she's helping you get better too.

I've missed you, so get better soonest! *grin*

3 pounds is about half the weight of a conventional bag of sugar or flour. It's not much. And that indicates that you should take the restriction seriously.

I know it isn't easy but you'll heal faster and better and that's what counts. Hope you've got some good books and old movies. Old movies got me through the recuperation from shoulder surgery. ;>

So glad that you are well into your recovery, but as others have said don't try to overdo. Enjoy your husband's company while he is with you and don't worry about postings - we are patient.

Tonya,
It's so good to read that you are on the mend. Of course you feel better with more of your fabric and "things" around you. Did you put out your Halloween decorations???

Having a general anasthetic (how do you spell that?!) takes a lot out of you, and the effects stay in your system for some considerable time. Take care of yourself and enjoy being looked after!
