Gargoyles Again

Okay, I should be working on the tutorial for making wonky jars and bottles. I've at least gotten some made.

This is for the new Quilt Together House, Home, or Pantry. Thank you for your response, I love that so many of you have already joined up to play with me. There's still space, just send me an email if you want to participate. I've sent out all the invitations for everyone who's already asked so if you haven't heard back from me, uh oh, please email me again.

I spent yesterday with with some dear friends who were in town for just a short while. We climbed to the top of Notre Dame Cathedral and now I'm paying for it. Ow. I do love the gargoyles that live up there.

The weather was lousy most of the day and this break in the clouds was most welcome.
We also hit Montmartre for the Sacre Couer and Croque Monseiur sandwiches, the Louvre for the ever small Mona Lisa and a quick walkthrough of history, Angelina's for hot chocolate (I was even good and just had iced coffee - that hurt!), a walk down the Champs Elysees and a ride on a Bateau Mouche on the Seine. Whew, that was all tiring but wonderful.

I've got some links for you.

First, some funglies: Here are Cheri's and Brenda's.

True Blue Nancy is working on a wonderful HOPEful quilt. I love how it's got both Lazy Gal and Gwen Marston inspiration.

Speaking of HOPE, I hope you've been checking out the wonderful Priority Hope Challenge quilts folks are generously making for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. Still plenty of time for you to participate too if you're interested.

This is a hoot. What happens when Jack O'Lanterns drink too much beer?

I love your wonky bottles and jars that really gets my imagination going. Thanks for mentioning my hope quilt. I have to do the binding. I want to give it to my friend before she goes to the hospital for her remaining treatments.

great gargolyes! I have a shot of them on Notre Dame in the fog so the background is all grey, for my desktop...

Those pumpkins are hilarious. Reminds me of your Picasso pumpkins from way back when.

The jack-o-lanterns are a hoot! Had to share that with some friends.

I love the backgrounds for your jars. I noticed on your Hope quilt, too, that you were using multiple shades for both letters and backgrounds. What a great look!

As always, your work inspires me. You are so creative, those jars are adorable. As for the Gargoyles...well let's face they're not the handsomest guys on the block, but Oh1 so interesting.
Remember that old song? "How ya going to keep em down on the farm, after they've seen Paree!" You won't ever want to leave if you continue to have such days.

As for the Jack-o-Lantern picture I had to send it on to my kids. Your right it was a hoot.

Your wonky jars/bottles are great! (of course!)
Sorry your knees are hurting. Sounds like you were kinda tough on them! I passed up the climb up Notre Dame and stayed on the ground with the GDs, while DH, DS and DIL did the climb. But what a view! Love the gargoyles. DH has quite a collection of miniature ones.
Thanks for the links. I'm really enjoying everyone's fungly quilts. They're so fun!

Love those pumpkins!

Hope the knee's aren't playing up too much after all that walking. I think you're going to have to give people guide books with everything marked and tell them they've just got to get on with it.

Great jars and bottles.

I gotta get going on my med bottles, and houses... Just gathered some info for my design... Love the Sacre Couer... great view. B did some dancing with a bunch of drummers up there one day, competing against each other for some tv show... just by luck... was great fun, people were totally into it...
What a great tour guide you are!

It must be incredible to live in such an interesting place. I take my guests down to the beach or up to the mountain, but we don't have the kind of history that you're enjoying in Paris...I'm so jealous :)

I've enjoyed your blog for a while, but I have to de-lurk to say thank you for pointing me in the direction of Gwen Marston's new book. I've had a go at making something very solid and wonky and odd and it's fantastic fun - and certainly something I would never have found on my own!
