The Crumby Retreat

Bonnie and I are having a marvelous time sewing crumbs. We started out from her scraps, but pretty soon added some fabric strips from my stash. Here's a peek:

Pokey is being social and sweet.

Stay tuned for more news.

Your blocks are getting my juices flowing! Wow...can't wait to see what you do with these. (I really like them on the red background.)

Oh I"m totally jealous! I wish you and I were doing my quilt! Or I wish I were there playing with both of you! It is great!

The blocks look great. I just read in my new quilting book that Freddy Moran considers red to be a neutral. Loking at the blocks on red, I am inclined to believe her. It will make a wonderful quilt. Proof is in the cat approval.

Ooh, fabulous blocks - scrappy and colourful and delicious. I really like them against the red too.

Those are turning out cute. I especially like the occasional little hst windmill/pinwheel stuck in there. And Pokey's a doll, as usual!

What marvelous crumb-y blocks! It's obvious you are both having a ball. I'm so glad you get to spend this time together. It is fabulous therapy for both of you, and "good for what ails the soul" as my mother would have said. Love the picture of your Pokey!

Those crumb blocks look like wonderful fun, Tonya. And I think the red sashing will look great, too. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Happy New Year to you, and to Bonnie, too.

Initially, I thought you had sewn the crumb blocks with varied size spacers and borders, which I thought was absolutely fantastic. I agree with everyone that the red works wonderfully. Beautiful work; I really enjoy reading your blog and also hope that you're feeling better.

Beautiful crums and Pokey is so cute, doing the quality control. How long did Bonnie get to stay and quilt, yak, eat, sew into the wee hours with you? Looking forward to hearing more.
