Big woohoo! Cake is bound and washed and looks fabulous. This is the Live block that Chris Daly of Dye Candy made for the quilt. She wrote a sweet post about me here. Thanks, Chris!
Meanwhile I've been trying to cram as much together time with my husband as possible before he departs tomorrow to travel once again. Unfortunately it's going to be quite awhile before he's back in town. Not that I can complain since at least he's gainfully employed.
Habibi cat has just been jumpy as all get out lately. I think he's convinced all the cats are about to be shoved in crates and shipped off across the ocean again. It's okay, Bibi, we all get to stay in Florida!
I'll be posting more frequently soonish. And giving ya'all links to fun places. And working on that website...
I love it! The quilting is so much fun. I can't wait to see the rest of the quilt...
ReplyDeleteThat block is gorgeous. I love the sunflower. Over the summer I aim to teach myself appliqué with freezer paper. Might turn out terribly wonky, but at least I can say I tried!
ReplyDeleteAll yours cats seem to have the most expressive eyes. Perhaps it's something to do with Siamese/Egyptian blood?
What a wonderful block to share...blue sky...green grass and flowers for the start of spring!!!
ReplyDelete.....sigh....
I can't wait to see the rest of the quilt.
ReplyDeleteOH My! That block is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteHabibi is soooo cute. Enjoy your husband while you've got him, it must be very hard on you to be without him. Have a great evening!
Give Bibi my love. I'm so glad he gets to stay stateside. Hope hubby gets to do the same soon too.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiousity, what does your husband do? And your cat has the most beautiful eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh man! I LOVE that "live" block. Especially the flower i!
ReplyDeleteChris did a fabulous job on her "live" block. Her flowered i is so charming, and I love her e too. The LA quilter did the perfect design for that block too. I can't wait to see the rest of this wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteBibi is so pretty. Sorry to hear he's been jumpy. Mine still freak out when I haul out boxes.
I love the crinkly texture, makes me want to touch!
ReplyDeleteI love the "live" block! It makes me smile - maybe put it on your blog border? Can't wait to see the rest - how much longer must we wait? any time line on the book?
ReplyDeleteTake care and give the kitties a hug from me.
such a pretty baby
ReplyDeletePoor Habibi! One of my cats, who was left behind as a kitten when her people moved away, was terrified when we moved a few years ago. I think she was convinced that she was going to be left again. Every time a large piece of furniture went into the truck she jumped in with it. I think that she thought that if she went with the furniture she'd be ok.
ReplyDelete"live" great quilt, and another inspiration for me!
ReplyDeleteA cat named Habibi had to come from our neck of the woods, was he a 'dustbin' cat by any chance?
ReplyDeleteLove that blue LIVE block and especially love the texture now that it has been washed.
ReplyDeleteA rare shot of Habibi ( and a good one...) Love how the quilt came out after the wash...can't wait to see the whole thing some day!
ReplyDeleteThat "Live" quilt is beautiful, I love it. And I love the pic of the kitty, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI am taking a day off from work tomorrow to quilt(my happy birthday to me day)!
I think its the suitcases that freak our animals out.
ReplyDeleteGreta Block!
Love the cat and the block. Very bright. You sound like you have a great sense of humor! Thanks, Steph
ReplyDeletea very perky post!
ReplyDeleteTonya, I checked out your site after seeing your blog posted in QH! Your blog is great and fun. Not only are your quilts fun, but I connect with anyone who loves cats. I have 3, and I work at a cat rescue center helping others to find new members to their family. I have a new blog -http://www.quiltingfromthegut.com that I'm working on. Check me out. I make artsy fartsy quilts that deliver a social, political, personal or spiritual message (believe you me, there's a lot of ground to cover).
ReplyDeleteyour colors are always lovely!
ReplyDeletei'm passing along the 'sunshine award' to you for your positive contribution to blogging.
Enjoy time with your husband. I know what you mean about animals acting looney. We've been getting new paint & carpet throughout the house & Gertie was a wreck for a day or so until she decided we weren't about to pick up & move! Today is the last day & by end of day tomorrow I should have everything back in it's place. Yahoo.
