Tentmaker Applique and the Baby

Just a quickie post to let ya'all now that Pokey is doing great and everything is good here. I'm still spending loads of time with her - as much as she'll let me. She has a check up on Friday so after we get the results of the blood test from that visit we should know even better how she's doing. But trust me, she's herself again.

We did find out yesterday that her pancreas is working well (that's a relief) and she doesn't have leukemia or any frightening disease like that.

Here are a couple of pics I haven't shown you before of Pokey lying on an Egyptian Tentmaker Applique quilt from Cairo. These photos are from a year and a half ago.

I was actually trying to take a pic of the wallhanging, not Pokey, but you know how that goes.

  11. Phew! I'm so glad for you that Pokey is recovered!

I'm also so happy for you that you came away from Egypt with a gorgeous applique! What a treasure. I had the honor to see quite a few in person when jenny Bowker brought some (and an artist) to France a few years ago. Unfortunately my pocketbook wasn't quite up to the standards of the applique and I couldn't bring one home at the time. I absolutely love the blues they use and yours has it in spades! Gorgeous!

  13. Pokey is a welcome addition to any quilt pics! It's especially good to see Pokey pics after your scare with her. I'm relieved to hear she's herself again, Tonya. This quilt is amazing! I love the color, and it screams against the coloring in Pokey. Just an explosive use of color!

  25. That's the news I wanted to hear! I'm so glad that she's much better and hopefully you can stop worrying now.
She certainly seems to share your love of textiles, and knows how to arrange herself so that she's shown off to perfection. Long may she continue do so.
