Coming Together

Wow, what a great day today. I have loads of sushine and I'm really happy with how my String Lone Star is coming together. It's still wonky, I'm still off by a quarter inch here or there and I don't care. It's all going to work. What a difference sunshine makes.

Okay, the next class is going to be about repetition. You can free-piece any kind of block(s) you'd like to - including letters/words but not limited to those. For those who like prompts I'll give you direction. I'll work on the class blog on some other day when it's not this glorious. I have to go sew now!

  2. Until I started reading your blog... and you talking about sunshine, I never realized HOW much difference it makes. I knew I didn't like gray days (except for curling up and reading). After reading your blogs, I started paying attention. I get WAY more accomplished on sunshiny days...with a better attitude!
    Thanx :D

  6. must be a worldwide phenomenon -- it is sunny in Winnipeg today too, and there's lots of snow to reflect it, so its really bright here. I'm in for the word/letter quilt class. I love the string star --maybe I'll start one soon too!

That looks fantastic! Wonderful bright colors and what a great contrast with the blue. Awhile back you mentioned that you were paper piecing on newspaper. Do you mark the paper or cut it to size before sewing? I had never thought of using anything but printer paper which can be difficult to remove. --Annette

  13. Wow, your star is looking great! It has been such fun watching you put it together. It is definitely worth all of the time you have been putting into it.

I'm glad that you are getting some much needed sunshine. We did in Pennsylvania as well. I was grateful and so was everyone else apparently--everyone I met was so cheerful. It was the first day I escaped long underwear and a coat in a long time!
