Bonnie and I are having a marvelous time sewing crumbs. We started out from her scraps, but pretty soon added some fabric strips from my stash. Here's a peek:
The blocks look great. I just read in my new quilting book that Freddy Moran considers red to be a neutral. Loking at the blocks on red, I am inclined to believe her. It will make a wonderful quilt. Proof is in the cat approval.
You know we're all jealous and wish we were there playing with you two!!! Hope you have a blast, get lots of sewing done, and that you both have the Happiest of New Year!
What marvelous crumb-y blocks! It's obvious you are both having a ball. I'm so glad you get to spend this time together. It is fabulous therapy for both of you, and "good for what ails the soul" as my mother would have said. Love the picture of your Pokey!
Initially, I thought you had sewn the crumb blocks with varied size spacers and borders, which I thought was absolutely fantastic. I agree with everyone that the red works wonderfully. Beautiful work; I really enjoy reading your blog and also hope that you're feeling better.
Beautiful crums and Pokey is so cute, doing the quality control. How long did Bonnie get to stay and quilt, yak, eat, sew into the wee hours with you? Looking forward to hearing more.
Your blocks are getting my juices flowing! Wow...can't wait to see what you do with these. (I really like them on the red background.)
ReplyDeleteOh I"m totally jealous! I wish you and I were doing my quilt! Or I wish I were there playing with both of you! It is great!
