I fell in love with this wavy stripe and this gorgeous purple fabric.
I think I'd have bought even more, but we got to the second store only a half hour before closing so I had to power shop. My sewing machine will arrive tomorrow (fingers crossed) and the first job is to get it cleaned and serviced. After that - I can do some sewing!!!
It was great to catch up with Bonnie, tho you have to feel sorry for her trying to sleep on the sofa bed while my cats played in the window blinds. We yacked and yacked, plus she brought some show and tell - her quilts are even more gorgeous in person than in pics, tho that doesn't even seem possible.
On a different topic, my sweetie and I received information on what MAY be our apartment in Paris. The housing board still has to approve our getting it and there are all sorts of factors outside of our control that play into that. The apartment is located downtown (woohoo) and my sweetie would be just a mile from work. We're both attached to the apartment already (even tho we shouldn't be) so I hope we're not disappointed.
Gorgeous fabrics, Tonya...love those reds, pinks and yellows.
ReplyDeleteGood news on the Paris apt...I'll keep my fingers crossed.
You're so lucky to spend time with Bonnie and see her wonderful quilts in person.
And your sewing machine arrives soon...I'm jealous!
What I want to know is how much (in yards, please) you bought? Did you buy 1/2 yard, 1 yard, 2 yards of each?
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed for the Paris apt too!
Your fabric choices are fabulous. I love them all.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the apartment you want in Paris. Where is it in Paris? We spent quite a lot of time in the Marais district near the Pompidou Centre. Of course, no matter where you are in Paris it will be exciting. There is a great fabric distirct too but I'm not sure about quliting fabrics.
So where did you go shopping?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the apartment - keeping my fingers crossed for you. Love that wavy stripe, too!
ReplyDeleteHey Ton, being stateside, and a visit from Bonnie...probably one of the best bday presents ever!!! *VBS*
ReplyDeleteI'm just delighted you got to shop and shop! Love the new stuff you bought...I'm sure it will find its way into many quilts. And the possibility of a downtown apt...I'll keep my fingers cross for you, and put good energy out to the Universe on your behalf. Keep the faith baby! Hugs, Finn
Ooh, lovely bright fabrics. Fingers crossed for your Paris apartment. We are hoping to go for a few days in the February school holidays - we have been several times before, but there is always something new to see or do.
ReplyDeleteReally hope the Paris appartment works out.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you bought. The pinks and oranges would go great for the quilt I'm making right now ;)
Great fabrics...luck on getting the apartment you want!
ReplyDeleteFun fabric purchases, Tonya! Good for you! I bet that it was fun for you to fondle them before buying...unlike cyber shopping.
ReplyDeleteI thought we'd get to see a pic or two of you and Bonnie the Great together! Hmmm??? Please?!
Tonya, I went back into your archives, to the beginning. We share a couple of things - I am so not interested in waiting any longer for the last Harry Potter book and I am a big Tour de France fan but I really miss Lance, even though the last two races were not as exciting as 2003. I have only gotten through the first two months but I cannot see why you were in Egypt. Is your husband in the diplomatic corps? I will keep reading as I have time.
ReplyDeleteOoh, a shopping trip . . . what great choices you got to play with. Plus news of an apartment in Paris? And a visit with Bonnie? And your sewing machine is coming tomorrow? Your life is good right now!
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed for the Paris apartment for you too, it sounds perfect! I love all the fabric you've purchased, gosh I can't wait to see what you make with it!
ReplyDelete*hugs*

:-)
Oohhhh, that blue stripe would make me seasick... lol
ReplyDeleteFunny, you pick the very ones that I don't usually use, I'm much more a green/blue kinda person, not at all a red/orange person!
Why were the cats playing in the window blinds?
I thought I was the only person who bought fabric for the quilt I just completed. I think I get stuck on buying certain colors and do it almost without thinking.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my fingers crossed for you for the Paris apartment.
Whoo Hoo indeed! Keeping doigts crossed that the Powers That Be let you have the appartement. Which arrondisement?
ReplyDeleteThat stripy fabric is to die for!
Gorgeous! Which shops did you go to for this fabric?
ReplyDeleteHi, Clare, that was the name my French teacher gave me (she gave everybody a French name somewhat like our own name); I'm keeping my doigts crossed that you get the wonderful one-mile-from-work apartment too, Tonya! What DC fabric shops did you visit? What a picture of Bonnie trying to rest to the tune of shifting window blinds, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric choices!
ReplyDeleteI am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well with the apartment! Downtown sounds wonderful!
I"m so jealous of the fun you two had! And yes - those all look like Tonya fabrics! I don't know though, that purple wavy stripe is pretty wild - that one may take me awhile to get used to!
ReplyDeletelove the striped fabric, it would have gone home with me as well. so nice to have a quilty friend like Bonnie to play with-you were both lucky to have that time together. hope the Paris apartment works out! hurray for your sewing machine arrival-you will have so much to play with once it's ready for stitching.
ReplyDeleteWhat neat fabrics! I love the color scheme! I am going to step out of my box with my next project and TRY to do some of your alphabet letters. I will let you know how I do. I am a bit frightened but with my support group here I may make it through with out having a breakdown! I have not worked without templets or exact measurements. YIKES
ReplyDeleteDenise
Look at all that color...wow...can't wait to see what you come up with
ReplyDeleteI hope you have better luck with your overseas housing than we did on our trip!
