check this out

Oops, forgot to mention that we now have a place to stay when we get back to the states in September. It's in northern Bethesda in Maryland, and we just have to walk a block to get to a D.C. metro station. I'm really excited about it. Looks like it's going to be a very convenient place to stay with lots to do nearby.

Also, go check out Kristin's incredible Home Sweet Home cross-stitch sampler-inspired wall-hanging. It's a marvelous bit of folk art using the free-pieced letters and I can't believe how quickly she made it.

  1. Hey Tonya...I've been using your letters a lot lately (well my version of them anyway, taken from your pictures, not your tutorials, LOL, I'm no good at following directions...)

I'm very jealous of you hanging out in DC for a while, I grew up there, born in Silver Spring Maryland, and now my folks have moved this month to Oregon...won't be many opportunities to go back to DC except to see friends now!

  2. I love the DC area and try to visit once a year or so - luckily I have a brother in Northern VA and a sister in Southern MD and my husband travels there on business too. With the Metro you can get just about anywhere.

  3. YAY for finding a place! (that is cat friendly.) Is it an apartment? If it is, where is it? I have a friend who needs to find a new place for him & his 5 cats - his current landlady is not making repairs - like a broken toilet, so at teh end of his lease he wants to move & the 5 cat mkove is not easy...

  9. You'll love DC. My brother lives in Silver Spring and when I visit I am able to easily zip around on the Metro.
