The good news is that it's probably benign, the bad news is that my medical problem is a tumor and it's going to have to come out along with a few other bits of my anatomy. No easy robot surgery either. Sigh. I'll be having the surgery sometime before the end of the month. My aunt will be coming for sure and my husband will get here in October.

Thinking of you. I am a homeopath in the UK. You would do really well to take Arnica 200c three times a day after the op to aid healing - it really will speed things along. Good luck xx
You poor dear. I'm glad your aunt will be there to help you out after the surgery until your husband gets there. Be good to yourself in the meantime, and don't worry about anything else. Try to line yourself up with some good reads for after the surgery. I will keep you in my prayers. Glad Pokey is doing well.
Oh Tonya, You must know our paryers and best thoughts are with you. PLEASE let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do. The JaM Patch gang
Be good to yourself before and after surgery. Let those that want to help, help. The more rest you get the faster you will heal. If you haven't already read the Elm Creek Quilter's series, you might want to while you recooperate, at least they are about quilting. Best wishes!
Get that sucker outta there! Get well wishes headed right your way!
Did you find someone to help take care of Pokey (love the storage box under the bed idea).
All good wishes for successful surgery and good news on the biopsy/test results. You know we're all pulling for you!!!!!!
For goodness sake, Tonya, sorry to hear you must have surgery. That's good that family is gathering and that Pokey is doing OK. We'll all be thinking of you.
It's a drag getting old. On the other hand, it beats the alternative. Think positive. Glad to hear Pokey is doing well. Love the photo.

PS I promise I will get Booquet done. J
Good news for you Tonya, stay positive & take good care of yourself.
Best wishes,
Wendy
My prayers and thoughts are with you! I enjoy reading your blog and keeping up with your projects! Good luck with the surgery.
Tonya,
I have often wished that I lived close to you to quilt with you. Now I wish that I lived closer to you to help you out. Keep your spirits up and be good to yourself! Thinking of you...

Your in my thoughts my dear. Take care , I hope they do it soon so you can recover and be back onthe mend soon. Hugs
Sending you well wishes, thoughts and hugs. I'm glad your aunt is there to care for you. Take care of yourself.
I really enjoy your blog. I look forward to your updates and news of Pokey, who is quite a beauty.
Sending lots of positive vibes your way. Get rid of the bad stuff and then let your Aunt & Hubby coddle you while you recoup. Hugs to you and Pokey.
I recommend doll quilts. Piecing them requires gnat like attention. They really speed healing after surgery, and they give you something to look at in the hospital, even if you don't feel like hand quilting, and just having a wee bit of quilting with you actually attracts quilters, and then you can talk to them about quilts, which is much more interesting than talking about BMs.
I wish for you a speedy, easy, painless recovery. You and cats will be in my thoughts. As others have said take all the help you can get. I know you will be most comfortable when your husband gets there...
I agree that you should line up all the help you can for after the surgery and get lots of rest. Don't push yourself. Enjoy being waited on! Latch on to that TLC and give yourself lots of time to heal and regain your strength.
Im sorry that you have to go thru all that, but glad that it can be removed and dealt with! Youre in my thoughts and i will send healing vibes your way! Im glad you will have family there to help you with the recovery too...take it easy and get plenty of rest! Get netflix on line (if you dont already have it) and rent a bunch of great shows that you've been meaning to catch up on :) HUGS~
Sounds like those good news/bad news deals drs give out. You'll really be glad to have hubby around (and your aunt, and pokey) on your side to holler "time to pack it up and go home" after the surgery.
Surrounding you with group hugs from RB, CA and best wishes for a hyper-speed return home.

dear Tonya, thank you for the update. I'm sending positive thoughts your way, hope the surgery will go smoothly! Glad your aunt is able to help with the cats
a healing hug from

Well, rats! Not the news we were hoping for, is it?
It looks like everyone else has already said what I would say! Just know that I'm thinking of you and wishing you a speedy hospital stay and recovery. Take good care of yourself and be a good patient!
And Woolywoman's got it right - take a little doll quilt to the hospital with you for some hand-quilting. Even if you never stitch on it, it will comfort you with it's beauty.
Hi Tonya,
This is not the worst thing in the world to happen to you. You will get through it. I did, way back in 1985. But mine was cancerous. After you have healed you'll look back and wonder why you worried so much. Keep a positive attitude.
Everything will work out! God is looking out for you.
Liz
Best of luck with your surgery. Hopefully a fine new quilt will come of this less than positive experience.
Glad to hear it is benign. I am sure all will go well and you will be back to your normal routine soon. I will be thinking of you.
So sorry you have to go through this without your husband around. I'm glad you've got family that can come stay with you. Hugs again.
Oh dear! I hope all goes well. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.
Hugs, prayers and best wishes from Michigan (USA). I know you will make it through with flying colors. We quilters are tough people! You CAN do this!
I had the same experience two years ago. Big mass on my left ovary. I was lucky, they discovered it on the ultrasound and did the surgery three days later so I didn't have to wait and worry. Like yours it was too big to do laproscopically, and I didn't even get the bikini line cut. My incision is right down the middle of my lower tummy. Oh well, I was never a binkini wearer anyway and it's fadded pretty well over time. I thought they were going to take the ovary and my uterus for sure and was dissapointed that when I woke up I still had that dratted uterus and periods! :) I watched all five seasons of Charmed on DVD, napped, and crocheted. The time went quick and I was up and around in no time. Didn't even use all my hydrocodone. You'll be great!
Well, now you know and can get on with the process! You have many people thinking and praying for you. Hang in there and get it over with, and back into the stream of your life. 8-)))
I'm glad your aunt is able to come be with you and help take care of Pokey. It's tough not having family nearby. Wishing the time to pass quickly for you so this hiccup will be over and you can continue with the good life.
I'm so happy to hear the news...any news at all, but especially as this seems to be positive and I'm so glad.
Good idea about the underbed storage boxes, but are you sure that they're to keep Pokey out from under there, or is this just an excuse to have more storage for fabric...lol.
Praise God it's benign!!! Will con't to pray!! so glad your hubby will be able to come.
I'm glad to hear your hubby will be able to come home for a time. Will that be after the surgery? How wonderful to have an aunt that can come as well. It's so annoying to have these medical issues get in the way of what we really want to be doing. And no amount of will can overcome the emotional repurcussions. {sigh} This too shall pass... eventually.
My thoughts are with you.
God bless and hope all goes well.
I'm glad to hear the prognosis looks good. Wishing you good health and a speedy recovery from your surgery.
Wishing you all the best as you go through this. I know this is not how you planned to spend the next few months. You were probably going to do this anyway, but knowing how much you love Halloween, perhaps you should make sure to get your Halloween quilts and decorations up soon so they'll be there to cheer you on during recovery. Take care and please keep us up to date.
Tonya, I wish you an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. Take it easy and spend lots of time snuggling with Pokey while you recover.
Best wishes for your operation. Take time to recover and you should be better than new.
I'll be thinking of you that the operation goes well and that you make a full and quick recovery.
Sorry you have to go through this, but hoping a quick recovery and the end of health problems will make it easier to endure.
Thank goodness for family and friends.
We are all thinking of you. And waiting anxiously for your bright and colorful pictures. Hoping for the best outcome to your surgery.
Sending you well wishes. Take care of yourself. Let Aunt & Hubby spoil ytu while you heal.
So glad is benign and you will have help after the surgery. Will continue to keep you in prayer - don't worry about sewing
Quilty hugs,
Hang in there, stay strong. All will be well.
Take care Tonya - prayers are with you. Remember what quilters do when they're under stress - they go to pieces (quilt pieces that is). Love your HOPE quilt.

Good news and bad news. Having been under the surgeon's knife myself I know it's not fun, but it has to be done. Look forward to feeling better after it's all over.
sorry to hear! i really hope the surgery goes smoothly and your recovery is quick. your quilt is lovely, what wonderful colors. your positive attitude and excitement/exuberance for life will surely help your healing process.
Stay strong and positive. My prayers are with you.

Hi,
I just stumbled onto your blog today. I'm both a nurse and a quilter -- my thoughts are with you!! With best wishes, Carol
hello tony,
I whish you a good recovery,
look at my blog it will give you a smile today.
You are such an inspiration to me. I wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Ugh. I'm sorry it can't be done easily. I'll be thinking of you... and Pokey, who no doubt will find other challenging places to find instead!
I wish I was close enough to come and help.
Lots of prayers and good thoughts for you for a speedy recovery. Always have Pokey in my prayers.
It will be over before the holidays at least!
Good thinking on the plastic storage bins.
Best of luck on your surgery. I'm glad your family will be there to take good care of you.
Tonya, Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of quilting? Seriously, I am so sorry to read about your need for surgery. Perhaps the deed has already been done and the worst is over. I'm praying for you. Get lots of rest and dream of new quilts!
Hi Tonya: Please know that I too am thinking about you and praying for good things, and an easy recovery for you. Maybe this will be a great time for hand work...please take care of yourself.
I'm sorry to hear that you can't have the robot surgery. Something tells me Pokey will be the best medicine. Glad your Aunt can come to help. I'll be thinking about you.
Deborah
Tonya,
How are you doing? I keep checking to see if you've posted something new. I hope you are recooperating at a speed that you're happy with and that we'll hear from you on your blog shortly. Lois
I wouldn't worry to much I had a neck pain for about four months after a fall and finally found out one a Monday, I had a crack and a ruptured disk and my neck was ready to snap. I was surprised and the dr said go home and be careful.
That same week on Friday I had emergency surgery and have plate and four screws put in and holds my neck together with bone graft.
It healed, I am fine. You will be too. Don't read all the stuff on the internet most is to general so you think you have every possible diease. It is better to have the surgery now before we all lose are health care choices to Obama's plan so scheduale your surgery soon or you will be put on a waiting list, and is not that the Hope you quilt about?
Tonya ~ I'm sorry to hear you're of your tumor. I haven't been online much lately... My prayers are with you.
Hi Tonya,
Best wishes for speedy healing. Follow Dr's orders and don't overdo (no heavy lifting bolts of fabric --let someone else lift them for you!)
