L-O-V-E Again?

Am I stuck in a rut? Here I am again playing with L-O-V-E blocks in solids and hand-dyes. Speaking of the quilt I just basted, I'm going to go with Woolywoman's suggestion of Rumspringa. I like the connotations of adolescence and running or skipping around.

I've expanded my palette a bit and added in yellows, muted orange, and a few odds and ends I got in a Cherrywood grab bag. If you look closely, you'll notice there's something else different about these blocks as well.

Lily has been quite the pest today. She was determined to jump up on top of my sewing drawers, even though I had it stacked high. She had a fine place to sit after knocking everything else down. Here she is holding down some strips:

It is gray gray gray gray here today and something like 64 degrees. Blah. Not getting nearly as much accomplished as I should - just too sludgy.

other than I's creeping in? is LIVE going to play with LOVE ? I like these colors! they all look fun - I hear you about the kitty love- I had to move stuff in here for Zoe's bed-she needed to have an undisturbed space and I walk in and out a lot when I am working on quilting stuff.

If you're going to be stuck in a rut, living and loving sounds like a good one to be stuck in. :)

Fantastic colours. Love and let live!

Those eyes say "Moi? Jamais." and now I know why you buy such great colours. It's to set off the cats' colouring.

I too see LIVE in with the LOVEs. Oh, and Lily is such a great helper ;-) Mine isn't such a pest with the fabrics, but he does like to help with my typing when I'm online.

I'll see what i can do to send some Hawaiian sunshine your way. ;-)

Very nice. I like the touches of yellow. Are the nine patches part of it? I like them a lot too.

What GREAT letters! Many of my quilts have words appliqued on them - I love your approach!

I just love all those LIVEs and LOVEs--lots and lots of impact. Aren't you excited about this quilt? I sure am...

I always admire your LOVE & LIVE quilts. Well I just plain like your work, or I guess we . should we call it play.

I love the four-patch arrangement of the letters. I played around with that when I made my LOVE quilt, but didn't have the guts to go for it. Keen to see how this looks when it's sewn together.

I was thinking of trying to be clever and come up with other 4 letter words using the Love/Live as a start...guess my brain isn't clever today because I'm not coming up with anything! Think it is time to give scrabble to the charity shop....

Love the colors. Yellow! You must really be missing the sun!

Paris may be gloomy now but it's bright inside your apartment! I really like the yellow thrown in.

Just signed up for a class in dying fabric. Woohoo!

I've been love, love, loving your blog for a while now. (quietly from a distance!) Nothing wrong with doing what you know! (or sew!)

I welcomed the first day of cloud cover we had recently because it meant cooler temps and more comfortable working conditions in the studio. Now I'm ready for the sun to come back! I've heard that there are cool but still sunny autumn days in some parts of the world...

Funny I was listening to music whilst browsing your blog... Michael Buble playing in the background.... A crazy little thing called Love!
How very complimentary to this quilt. Love your work.
