I think I'm going to have to treat myself to some Parisian chocolate Halloween candy this year and see if these wonderful items are as good to eat as they are to look at.
I spent some time yesterday photographing a display of my Halloween art and the few horror/ creepy/odd books we own in order to enter Library Thing's 20 Million Books/Halloween photo contest. Habibi checking it out:
"Anonymous" has fessed up that the identity impersonation was meant to be a joke. D'oh. Really made me realize how easily someone could cause damage if they wanted to. If you get a comment from someone that just doesn't seem right, think twice about who it might really be from.
Yesterday I watched The Ring. Naomi Watts is impressive and she had a great American accent, but can't say much for the movie. Remakes of Japanese horror movies just don't do it for me - The Grudge was lame too. I don't recommend either.
A friend is in town and we have sun - woohoo! At 56 degrees it's going to be positively balmy out there. Now I have to go get the apartment whipped into shape although I'm still undecided about whether or not I'm going to let her in to see the place. I don't need Howler freaking out even more than he has been.

Go on - treat yourself to some yummy French dark chocolate. I love the pumkin. Tomorrow is Toussaints (bank holiday again!). You ought to go to one of the cemetries as the French will be putting pots of Chrysanthemums (sp) on the family tombs/graves and the colours are stunning.
Treat yourself like crazy today. I seems obvious you miss the way you are used to celebrate Halloween so, make yourself a wonderful crazy, scary, thrilling, dark chocolate day!
I have to go to a funeral today, it gives me a creepy feeling...
I‘m glad the anonymous thing is solved.
I'd say go for the French chocolate. It may not be traditional Halloween but I bet it beats the cheap toffee we often see here.
good chocolate sounds like a real hardship for halloween after the cheap stuff here! lol :-) Hope you enjoy a piece or two for me
Tonya - Hi. I'm Amy's cousin. I clicked over here after the whole fiasco and had to comment. Your quilts are gorgeous! I love the Blooming Horrors one! Enjoy your chocolate and Happy Halloween!!
Wow do those chocolates look yummy! Your making me want chocolate so early in the morning! Happy Holloween Tonya!
Happy Halloween Tonya! I had to check in with you today of all days. The chocolate is to die for. I love how all the displays look. Oh and The Shining was fantastic on the big screen! Have a great day.
Hey Happy Halloween Haunted Day! We made it....toooo spooky! Love the candy pictures(well, all the pics you take actually *G*) Hope you got yourself that treat and royally spoiled your dinner!
Sorry to read about the ruckus and 'stuff' with the comments. Seems like maybe it's resolved? A wake up call for all of us.
The pics of the furry friends are just wonderful..that one great camera he has!! Camera Envy time..oh ya!
Love the links...I could be here all afternoon. Hope your day is 'haunting happy' Hugs, Finn
P.S. Have to 'fess up...Frankie remains EYE-LESS...maybe by next year *G*...or maybe I'll just give him sunglasses *VBS*
The chocolate shops you've photographed--are any of them called Leonidas or something like that? It's been 11 years and I still remember those places and how nice the staff was to me, with my pitiful French.
I must be a really scaredy cat because when I saw "The Ring", it scared me out of my wits! and when the phone rang shortly after the end of the movie, I made my hubby answer it!! LOL
I am not a fan of the horror movies, i must admit.
I know it's one of your favorite howlidays, so Happy Halloweeny!!!
Love your blog. Had to check it out today of all days! I love the pics you show...both of your art and the city. Could you answer a question for me? What is an arrondisment? You mentioned it in your blog.
Thanx...

Really, in the interest of cultural research, it's the only responsible thing to do!
Happy Halloween! (Okay, so I'm a day late on Paris time - you know I'm thinking of you anyway!)
Looks like I've got some catching up to do. I have a whole host of projects to work on now for next Halloween too! Wish my energy matched my enthusiasm :-{
Eat some candy for me - I'm trying to be good this year. I'm glad the whole impersonation mess got sorted out. I'm sorry it happened to you of all people.
Ok, so this is your night!! Enjoy and Happy Halloween!!

i will sleep tonight with dreams of chocolate from la maison de chocolat and la mere de famille. thank you! inquiring minds want to know: which arrondissement do you live in? and a lovely toussaint to you!!
Maybe it's just me but I think posting snide/mean comments on blogs isn't much of a joke. I'm glad someone fessed up but I don't think much of their sense of humor. I've never read an ugly comment from you so hopefully anyone reading them realized it wasn't you.
That chocolate looks wonderful! Isn't few pieces of dark chocolate a day supposed to be good for you?!
Hope you had a great Halloween!
That candy looks just yummy -- though, I can't see giving it out to trick or treaters :0). Hope you had a great Halloween in Paris -- I've really enjoyed your tourist pictures, more please :0).
Looks like we have a similar library...lots of Stephen King! have you ever read Dean Kuntz...he can be fun too! As for scary movies, i love the shining...those bloody twins in the hallway...when im in certain hotels with the long hallways, i flashback to that scene and get creeped out! Besides, who doesnt love jack nicholson...all work and no play, makes jack a very dull boy! :)
Hope your halloween was fun, and i hope you treated yourself to some of those yummies you photographed! Cheers~

We had a wonderful halloween in the states. Kids got lots of candy and we on sweet overload. I share your fondness of quilting and your Habibi looks just like my Rolo (20lbs).
Love the display....and it can't be true you don't have many horror books?????
Get shopping girl.....and indulge in some of that beautifully displayed choc! Tracey
