Here's a peek at my Merry Penguins wallhanging in progress. To see the whole top, go here.
I love the retro colors in this fabric. I might take it as my inspiration when I pick out my little tree and ornaments for Florida. I love the idea of using pink and lime green (which I bet my hubby would hate) so I can indulge myself. I'm sure other colors will creep in tho - I've never been able to stick to just one color or theme or anything for Christmas, I just get all that I love.
Did not feel very good yesterday. Had some chest pains, which sounds scarier than it is. It's a side effect from my thyroid medicine, which I am now supposed to be splitting into two and taking in the morning and then 12 hrs later. I'm hoping that evening out the dosage will give me more energy in the morning too.
I have been soooo bad about providing links, so I have a whole list of them. Here are a few:
Hanne made a delightful quilt called Love XOXO using the hugs and kisses blocks combined with hearts in a beautiful mix of pinks, reds and white. I'm loving her Dear Jane Christmas blocks too.
Quilting Rush Laurie Ann is playing with letters again, this time making a doggy-themed quilt for a friend.
Dordogne Quilter Clare finished a delightful family quilt full of meaning, made with wonky houses, letters and special quilting. Clare is issuing a Free Piecing Crazy Scrap Challenge to cheer everyone up in the New Year. Looks like it will be loads of fun.
Kim at Force Majeure Farm has issued the 2nd edition of the Bent Needle online quilt and textile carnival, this time focusing on the holidays.

The penguin quilt is looking great. Pink and lime green look great together. THose are the colors my GD used on her latest quilt and they look great together but a bit girly so I suppose your husband has a point.
What size thread are you using on this piece? They look awfully close together to be perle cotton.....
Hey Ton, love, love, love the Howdy magnet!! It's suits you to a T...which seems appropiate...*VBS*
So glad you have had a friend in town and got to hang out together. Even without energy(which is the street I live on..*G*) you're doing fine. The time will just fly by, and you'll be in Paris and setting up a sewing room before you know it!!
I'm delighted with how you Merry Penguins look...really great pic of really great fabric. I think lime green and hot pink would be just perfect for this particular year...*VBS* Take care of you and the furry friends. Hugs, Finn
Love the penguins and the pink and lime tree idea is perfect for a floridian christmas. sounds like you are feeling better day to day. there's always bumps on the road to recovery so hang in there and keep your seatbelt fastened!! sending you a *hug* and good thoughts!
I have my silver tree which has antique balls and mostly pink, silver limes, and aquas on it. I love hot pink and lime together!! Just got 2 new hot pink balls today at Pier One covered with hot pink sparklies and sequins!! Good for it! Get a nice silver tinsel tree of a nice green one!
Hope the halved pills help, it will take time for the dosage to get right. They only changed mine every 6 weeks. It sucks and I am sorry you have to go thru it.
Did you hand quilt those tinsy tiny stitches?
Ruth
using your penguin quilt for inspiration on a christmas theme/colour sounds like a fun plan to me. Hope evening out the dosage of meds helps -- I know with mine timing can be everything.
The penguins are adorable. Who says the everything Christmas has to be red and green? I don't. Have fund decorating for Christmas.
Just love those penguins! Thanks for the close-up!
Great penguins! The camera did a super job of capturing the colors. Thanks for the round-up of sites, too. Hope the meds. even out for you.
Excellent penguins Tonya.
You can see lime green and hot pink in action on my blog with the baby quilt I finished the other week for my friend's baby. It's great!
