Sweeties

A picture from Cairo. This was when I was trying to sort through my sewing and craft stuff to figure out what I was going to toss and what was getting packed. Cats of course had a great time.

Ya'all are very sweet. Again, thank you for all the supportive comments and emails. You're fabulous.

Turns out my sweetie and I were overreacting. We'll still make it to Paris. We just need to stop worrying.

My husband is leaving this morning to go out of town for two weeks. This has been planned for ages and there was no compelling reason for him not to go. My marvelous friend M lives not too far from here and is willing to step in and take care of the cats and me if it turns out I can actually get in to surgery in the next little while. Which I hope I can.

He's taking the laptop which means I won't be spending as much time on online, but not to worry, I will keep in touch.

On the good news front, my favorite aunt and uncle are in town. We all went out last night for dinner and it was wonderful to get caught up. I considered doing some sightseeing with them today, but then decided I really didn't want to see the capitol building, so maybe I'll just meet them for dinner.

There is nothing more scary than the "C" word. You have every right to over react. From some of the comments you got, it sounds like you will be in Paris in no time. I had part of my thyroid removed in 1971 because of a lump that turned out to be non-cancerous and I haven't missed it for a moment. I had 4 kids under 6 so no time to do much stressing about it anyway! Lol. Hope all goes well with the surgeon on Tuesday. Keep us posted.

I've spent the morning digging out my sewing room. With 5 helper cats. LOL! What is it about moving stuff around that fascinates cats so much?

Gorgeous pic of the furry helpers, Tonya. They're just wonderful...and what would stash be without the extra fur decoration!

All the good wishes I can send will be winging toward you whether you can get online or not. I will be happy to hear that things are well when you can post.

Tonya, I haven't checked your blog for a few days, and now I got caught up. I'm sorry for all your worries. It does sound like it has been a scary time. With all the prayers and support of the Mavericks, how could it do anything but turn out great!? We all hope for the very best for you. I love your cat photos. They are so cute. The one sitting on top of the folded fabric pile looks so pleased and content. "Look what I found! Oh aren't I just the smartest cat!" I'm glad you have them to love you up and help you stop worrying. Keep us posted when you can!

Hey Ton, sounds like you are doing an excellent job of "keeping steady to the course". Sometimes straight through is the best way to go.
Its good to know that there are people to step in, if needed.
And getting to Paris on schedule is great news! As are visitors from home..*VBS* Take care of you sweetie, and the darling furry ones. Hugs, Finn

Glad everything is working out for you -- I've been behind on my reading, so wasn't aware of what you're going through. The good news is, my DS had half his thyroid removed and everything works fine. I'll be thinking about you. Hugs and prayers.

Cats are so nosy, aren't they?

Tell Lily that I think her black spots make her look like some cow fabric I have. :) I like the way they fade out at the edges.

Take care!

I don't do well with having things beyond my control so I can relate to hating for things to pop up and mess up the well oiled plans. Surprisingly, when all this is done and over, you will get your meds and when they get leveled off you will have more energy than you will know what to do with!! Having your thyroid levels messed up is just plain awful! Even the smallest deficiency is totally draining on the body. SO keep that in mind and focus on the end of feeling much better.

I hope they get it all scheduled quickly and can work you right in. Glad you have someone to help while hubby is away, it will help some, even if it's to bring you groceries and movies.

Email if you need anything.

PS: Nosy must be part of the cat gene system!!

Darling pictures of the cats, with them all snoozing together and lined up on the fabric stacks. A blessing that you have the c identified and can do something about it. We are all thinking of you and keep us posted. I know you'll be off to Paris in no time!

Your life is so interesting, Tonya. There is always something going on. I'm looking forward to the Paris posts, and visits to marketplaces there. Or a pic of the Left Bank, or something very French. =)

Enjoy time with your aunt and uncle. I know you'll be fine, as soon as the uncertainty of the medical is out of the way.

I love your cats.

Hey, keep your chin up! Things will be fine. Get that little thing yanked out and get on some meds. All will be well. Keep us posted!

Gorgeous cats. Obviously very well loved- all sleek and shiny. You know what Bill always says when I am troubled over stuff? "Honey, it's just a sh**y situation. It's OK to feel down." That always makes me feel better-I hate to feel like I am not being "reasonable." My mom and both her sister had that little thyroid problem- they are all just great. I know you will be just fine, too. Smile and pet the cats. It's good for you. Prayers for an uneventful week!

Trying to catch up and didn't realize all of your problems going on. Hugs and prayers for finding a good doctor and to a speedy recovery so you can be off to Paris.

The felines will be good company during your down time. Purring is good healing-music.
